The ‘Mother Of Dragons’ has landed herself a lead female role in what is possibly the biggest film franchise of all time.
Emilia Clarke is not the only ‘Game Of Thrones’ actress to have a lead role in a Star Wars movie, in 2015 ‘Brianne Of Tarth’ actress Gwendoline Christie was cast as cast as Captain Phasma in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’.
Emilia has starred as Sarah Connor in “Terminator Genisys” in 2015, and in “Me Before You,” which bowed in June and grossed $207.5 million worldwide on a $20 million budget.
Emilia Clarke has not yet spoken to the media prior to securing her newest job.
The new movie will be set prior to “Star Wars: A New Hope,” like the other upcoming “Star Wars” standalone project, “Rogue One,” which hits theaters on Dec. 16.
Fans of “Game of Thrones” will be pleased to know that this new job will not effect her involvement in the new highly-anticipated season of the HBO fantasy drama. Insiders on the show indicate that most of the major cast members will finish shooting by the end of the year. This season has a shorter episode count then previous ones; therefore Clarke’s involvement in season seven will not affect the Han Solo shoot, or vice versa.
As for season 7 of ‘Game Of Thrones’ it was announced that the show’s Mega-Budget Will See Stars Earn $1.1 Million Per Episode Of Seasons Seven And Eight.
