‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 7 To Have Extended Episodes And Will Be ‘Jam-Packed’

As fans of the HBO fantasy ‘Game Of Thrones’ were left disappointed after finding out that there will be less episodes, it is true that the little episodes that are left will be extended making them among the longest episodes the show has had.

  • Episode 1: 59 minutes.
  • Episode 2: 59 minutes.
  • Episode 3: 63 minutes.
  • Episode 4: 50 minutes.
  • Episode 5: 59 minutes.
  • Episode 6: 71 minutes.
  • Episode 7: 81 minutes.


To date, the longest episode in ‘Game Of Thrones’ history came in the very first episode back in 2011 ‘Winter is Coming’. This episode lasted 61 minutes. The premiere of season 7 won’t quite be as long, but will be 59 minutes; according to reports. We can expect some of the upcoming season 7 episodes to last well past the hour mark and have an awful lot of content squeezed in to them giving us an extremely fast-paced season.

Actress Emilia Clarke, who portrays Daenerys on the show spoke with Entertainment Weekly and teased the length of the upcoming episodes saying:

“When I first read this season I thought: ‘Damn, I gotta learn some lines!'”

Also, actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jamie Lannister on the show spoke of the amount of content squeezed into the new episodes.

“Everything happened quicker than I’m used to. A lot of things that normally take a season now take one episode.”

Petyr Baelish actor Aiden Gillen said the new season is ‘jam-packed’ and spoke of the amount of story there is left to tell:


“There’s still so much story, so much that has to happen in this story of Game of Thrones. This season and next season are going to be jam-packed, so I am quite excited about that. It’s been a big part of my life for the last seven years and will be for the next couple of years, so, yeah, I’m sure I will have some kind of a strong feeling about it [ending.]”
