HBO Consider Pushing ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8 To 2019

As fans have been disappointed about the seventh season of HBO fantasy ‘Game Of Thrones’ being delayed by a few months, it’s about to get even worse, when HBO programming chief didn’t rule out that the eighth season could be delayed by a whole year.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the HBO programming chief, Casey Bloys implied that writers David Benioff and D. B. Weiss will be allowed to take their time in writing the final six episodes for HBO.

When the interviewer asked: “So as of now, the final season could air in 2018 and / or in 2019 depending on their needs?” Bloys replied:

“Yeah. They have to write the episodes and figure out the production schedule. We’ll have a better sense of that once they get further into the writing.”

Bloys also indicated that we could be waiting a long time from the conclusion of the final season of ‘Game Of Thrones’ and the first of 5 planned spin-offs. He said:

“You’re not going to see anything air anytime close to the season 8 finale,”
