American drama series ‘Ozark’ will look to return for a second season, with no confirmation yet, actress Laura Linney claims she’s ‘Hopeful’ for a new season.
In past months, confidence of a renewal from Netflix is not enough, with the network taking a brutal move and slashing some of their top shows, could Ozark be one of them? The main reason for Netflix’s recent cancellations (The Get Down, Sense8, Girlboss) is that recent reports (Fader, LA Times) suggest that the company could be sitting on more than $20 Billion of debt. However, it’s not all bad with the last week bringing us the news that they have renewed their biggest show ‘Stranger Things’ for a third season, prior to season 2 even airing!
In a recent interview with EW, Laura Linney, who plays Wendy Bird on the show claimed she is ‘Hopeful’ of Netflix renewing the series, and says she is eager to start if a season 2 happens. Read what she said in full below:
“We haven’t been picked up yet; we’re hopeful that we will be. The writers haven’t gotten together yet. I think we’ll be eager and ready to go if we’re given the permission to do so. There are so many good characters all in one place that something fun is going to happen.”
Ozark gained a some fantastic reviews from fans online, getting a massive 8.7/10 on IMDb with over 12,000 ratings. However, Netflix does not renew shows through their ratings, they renew them from viewing figures meaning the more viewers a show gets, the more likely it is to get renewed, so if you want a season 2 effectively you can put the show on repeat everyday to help the viewing figures.
Obviously, remember to follow us to continue to get news on Ozark as well as all of your other favorite shows!
