Each of the four sequels of James Cameron’s movie franchise Avatar could have a budget of $250 Million respectively, making them the most expensive movies of all time – and would all together cost $1 Billion dollars to produce!
The first movie had a huge budget of $237 million, and it was a massive success, many loved it, but where sequels demanded? Not so much. The movie ended in a way that it had all wrapped up and Cameron was not looking for a sequel, but now there will be not one, but four releasing in the coming years!
The budget news we’ve found has come from insiders and many sources stating this could well be the case. Back when they released, Terminator 2 cost $100 million to produce, which was unbelievable back then. After that we had the Titanic movie, which surpassed Terminator and cost a whopping $200 million which is unheard of. Now we have four $250 million Avatar sequels?

Avatar is is being produced as we read this and has a proposed (not set) release date for December 18th 2020, making it 11 years since the first was released. Speaking of the four sequels, James Cameron said: “The thing is, my focus isn’t on Avatar 2. My focus is on Avatar 2, 3, 4 and 5 equally. That’s exactly how I’m approaching it. They’ve all been developed equally.” In terms of release dates for the other movies, for Avatar 3, December 20, 2024, for Avatar 4 and December 19, 2025.
Is Avatar worth pumping a proposed $1 Billion dollars into, or do you think that money should be spread into different projects?
It seems these movies will be among the most ambitious movies ever made.
