Mr Robot was originally intended to span across three seasons, but in a recent interview the series creator didn’t specifically rule it out.
Mr. Robot Season 3 hasn’t been announced as the last in the series from The USA Network thus leaving the door open for a potential fourth season? When you look at past TV show announcements from this network, they usually announce renewals later than usual (even with Mr Robot season 3!) as opposed to other networks such as Netflix whose announcements are widely known for renewing incredibly early. For example, the Stranger Things’ season 3 renewal was made weeks ago.
Series creator Sam Esmail explained that the USA Network drama has a planned ‘three-act’ lifespan in an interview with THR, Read what he said below:
“Because Mr. Robot started out as a feature in my head, I’ve very much structured the story like a three-act film.”
He went on to explain further about the ‘3-acts’, giving explanations for each of the past two seasons, and the upcoming one. Not once in the interview did he mention not having a fourth season and he didn’t rule it out when asked either. Speaking of the upcoming season he gave us a little teaser: “That all teed it up for this season, where we now see all of these storylines collide. That gives off a propulsive nature.”
