When discussing the greatest Game Of Thrones episodes, the two frontrunners, especially for ratings, are the ‘Battle of the Bastards’ and the infamous ‘Red Wedding’ creators.

These two directors will return for the final season. Episodes 1, 2, and 4 will be directed by The Rains of Castamere (Red Wedding) director David Nutter. As well as him, episodes 3 and 5 are in the hands of Miguel Sapochnik, who directed the Battle of the Bastards – probably the greatest TV battle ever.

It’s not only BOTB that Miguel Sapochnik directed in the show, but also the insane White Walker battle in Hardhome & the season 6 finale ‘The Winds of Winter’ which is widely regarded as being one of the greatest episodes.

This leaves one episode, the finale. The surprise for the final ever episode of Game Of Thrones is that it will be directed by the duo showrunners, David Benioff and B.B. Weiss. It will be interesting to see what they can pull off.

Game Of Thrones star Ben Crompton has teased a big ending to the show, saying it will go out ‘with a bang’ :Read more about this here.

  1. This is so exciting ! I really enjoyed season 7 and am now very keen for season 8. Season 6 ended on such a high I wasn’t sure if the show runners could match it, but I was thrilled by this season. Seeing the first meeting/ reunion of key characters was so exciting, and the battle scenes did not disappoint. Would appreciate it if you could check out my S7 review at https://scribblesofstageandscreen.com/2017/12/27/game-of-thrones-season-7-review/
