Despite its poor ratings, Knightfall was rated among the top cable drama launches of 2017. For the season premiere it managed to secure a very good 1.8 Million viewers. This figure dropped a little over the next episodes, but it still consistently gathered a good amount of viewers. This is most likely the main reason why the HISTORY channel have decided to merit the drama a new season. Viewing figures mean more than ratings, in general.
The press releases inform us that Knightfall will return in latter 2018 with a further 10-episodes.
