Simon Pegg & Nick Frost Are Producing A Horror-Comedy TV Show Called ‘Truth Seekers’

You read that right! Our favorite duo from the hilarious ‘Cornetto Trilogy’ of movies (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz & The World’s End) are coming back to screens with a brand new horror TV series called Truth Seekers.

At the time of writing there us not too much details on the show itself, we just know that it will be a horror-comedy and will star the comedy duo. The show will be centered on a trio of paranormal investigators that encounter a different supernatural creature or phenomenon in each episode. The episodes will last for a duration of cerca 30 minutes, we do not know how many episodes it will consist of, probably no more than 10.

In a recent interview with Variety, Simon Pegg gave us a small insight about the series, which will be produced by his newly-formed network, Stolen Pictures, which he created in collaboration with Nick Frost. Read what Simon Pegg said below:

“Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something. It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown.”

He continued, explaining about the success of Shaun of the Dead, and how he will use it as a guideline for the new series:

“‘Shaun of the Dead’ was a very parochial story set in North London and somehow it managed to get this global reach because everyone understands the language of zombie movies.”

As well as Truth Seekers, Pegg and Frost will also use their network to produce a new movie, Slaughterhouse Rulez. This feature-movie is set in a posh U.K. school that is set upon by a demon after a fracking project accidentally releases the beast from within the Earth. We do not have a release date yet, but should release this year.

At the moment, Simon Pegg is awaiting the release of Ready Player One, a movie that he plays a big role in as co-creator of the OASIS Ogden Morrow. The Steven Spielberg movie releases March 30th.
