The man behind The Force Awakens, which was one of the most successful movie releases of the last decade, J.J. Abrams, will return to TV to produce a brand new Sci-Fi show with HBO, after Game Of Thrones.
The 51-year-old American film director and producer looks set to team up with the network behind Game Of Thrones to produce a Sci-Fi, which they will hope to fill the huge gap that will be left by Game Of Thrones which will air its final season in 2019, with up to four planned prequels to come after.
The show will be called Demimonde from the french word meaning half-world. This show is currently said to be a sci-fi fantasy drama which will follow a girl who is transported into another, dangerous world. The protagonist is enthralled in a battle with a monstrous force, while her mother has been put into a coma following a car crash.
With Abrams currently working on Star Wars IX, Demimonde is not set for release until at least 2019 after game Of Thrones has finished.
In the past J.J Abrams was the man behind Lost which was a highly successful drama which lasted from 2004 to 2010.J.J. Abrams Will Produce A TV Series With HBO After 'Game Of Thrones' Ends Click To Tweet
This would not be the first time Abrams has worked with HBO either, he also works as an Executive Producer for Westworld, which released its much anticipated season 2 teaser at the Super Bowl recently.
Despite the lack of Game Of Thrones, HBO will hope to have a hugely successful year with season 2 of Westworld, the premiere of Sharp Objects and obviously season 3 on True Detective.
Do you have high hopes for this series, despite it still being very early days?
