Despite the huge popularity and demand for new episodes of Rick and Morty, the series co-creator has revealed that a season 4 renewal is not a given.
The Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon recently revealed that a fourth season of his comedy has not been ordered by Cartoon Network, much to the disapproval of fans worldwide. For a show that, in only three seasons, has risen in popularity so much to be one of the main shows on Netflix, it makes an especially odd decision to cancel it now, doesn’t it?
In a Tweet Dan Harmon revealed that the animated show hasn’t been ordered again. “I hear ya, tough spot. On one hand, it can be challenging, especially with crippling lazy alcoholism, to write a show that hasn’t been ordered by a network. On the other hand, the thought that fans like you pay the price…I mean…I’m gonna grab a drink.”
The overall likelihood of the show getting belatedly renewed for a fourth season is quite high, with the fanbase growing at a rapid pace, and demand for more episodes becoming higher. However, it could be that we will need to wait a while before we get our hands on new episodes, but it probably will happen so don’t be alarmed just yet.
