‘Terminator 6’ Casts Diego Boneta For An Important Role

The latest movie in the Terminator franchise is preparing to begin filming in May and has found a new lead actor in Diego Boneta.

The Terminator reboot will see the return of original director James Cameron and obviously Arnold Schwarzenegger as Terminator. James Cameron is currently hard at work creating sequels to his highly ambitious 2009 fantasy Avatar, where he will be taking us for more epic adventures in Pandora.

Because James Cameron is working on Avatar, he will only be acting as executive producer and not director for Terminator 6, the directors role has been given to Tim Miller, who is probably best know for his work in the directors chair on 2016’s Deadpool, which was a massive Box Office hit.

Filming for the movie is now expected to take place in May, being pushed back to a later date that was originally planned. The filming locations are said to be in both the UK and Spain.

The latest casting for the movie is Diego Boneta, who looks set to play a key role. THR reported that the 27-year-old Mexican actor will join in the cast. Boneta is best known for his roles in Scream Queens as well as his work on Rock of Ages alongside Tom Cruise. You may have recently seen him in Netflix’s latest project The Titan with Sam Worthington, an actor who has also been in the Terminator franchise. We currently do not have any details on Boneta’s role in the movie.

It was also announced by Variety that Mackenzie Davis is in negotiations to join the cast as one of the lead characters, with her being top of the list of Tim Miller’s casting choices. There is no current name for her character but in terms of details we know that she is a human soldier-assassin on a mission.

You might notice Mackenzie David from her roles in 2015’s The Martian or Always Shine. More recently, she starred in Blade Runner 2049 and she’s got another project coming soon in Tully.

Terminator 6 is said to ignore the events that take place after the second installment of the franchise, therefore picking up from where the second movie left off, and taking us in a new direction.

In spite of the fact that filming was pushed back, Terminator 6 is due in cinemas on July 26th 2019.
