Paramount WILL Make More ‘Star Trek’ Movies

Paramount are planning on expanding the Star Trek universe further with ‘at least’ one more movie in the franchise, says star.

The biggest rumor regarding additional movies in the Star Trek franchise tells us that Quentin Tarantino is interested in directing a movie and may have already been approached. This rumor has proved to be quite controversial with fans questioning whether it is the right project for him. Recently Simon Pegg commented on it, stating that he doesn’t think Tarantino will helm a Star Trek movie after all.

“I don’t think Quentin is going to direct it,” Pegg said. “Because he’s got in his California movie  to do and then I think only doing one more film after that. And I doubt, I don’t think he could get around to directing a Star Trek in two-three years.”

Since Star Trek was re-introduced to the big screen in 2009 by J.J. Abrams it was both a critic and box office success, and when the reins passed on to Justin Lin for 2016’s Beyond the film series continued to succeed. The success of the recent movies seems to tempt Paramount Pictures into making at least another movie, according to the current Spock, Zachary Quinto.

“Which ones are going to happen, which ones might happen first? I can’t really say, I don’t know honestly.” Quinto told Observer. “I know there are lots of conversations being had about it. I know there are plans afoot to do at least one if not more movies.”

He also voiced his opinion in the possible Tarantino movie. “Man, I would love it. We would all love it. I’ve been a fan of Quentin since the first movie, which I think was Reservoir Dogs. I have just always been an admirer of his unique brand of storytelling, and I feel like to interlace that with the Star Trek universe would be a real dream. It would be amazing.”

Should there be more movies, we don’t know who’ll helm them. It could be that Justin Lin continues to, or even Quentin Tarantino! Who do you think would make the perfect Star Trek movie?
